Residential and commercial building Hirschenplatz
Lucerne,
2017
The Dornachhaus in Lucerne’s old town centre is a characteristically ‘evolved historical monument’. The building’s history stretches back more than five hundred years and perfectly illustrates the way in which town houses have changed from the late Middle Ages through to the early 20th century. The building is now in need of restoration. The incorporation of a spacious residential unit extending across all the floors represents an opportunity to showcase various rooms and construction phases both architecturally and visually.
